Rough Draft
About the Organization
Rough Draft is a nonprofit organization that provides therapeutic art classes to incarcerated men, women, and youth. These classes include expressive art, writing, poetry, and expressive movement.
My Internship
During my internship, I provided assistance in a variety of areas. My primary responsibilities included reviewing lesson plans, setting up classrooms, teaching portions of lessons, and guiding students through the emotional aspects of creating art. I also contributed to research on grant funding opportunities and art gallery exhibitions. Additionally, I helped plan and execute the women's art pop-up event in San Marcos, Texas. Throughout the internship, I collaborated with a team and supported classes and events.
